Waves on My Feet

The Gulf Coast isn't terribly far away, and although it's not the world's prettiest beach by any stretch of the imagination, it does fit the bill when one has had a long week and just wants to relax along the shore for a few hours. This photo is from last November. It is too easy to forget the simple things that restore us - after an hour walking on the sand, getting my cropped pants wet up to the knee from the waves, enjoying the sun's warmth (even though my fair skin typically keeps me out of the sun) - I was thoroughly refreshed. What a blissful day!
What simple things refresh you?

Simple pleasures...as simple as they are, their effect is enormous and life is surely more enjoyable because of them. Here are some of mine: seeing new pics of my family from Romania my dad posts on his Picasa, receiving (and sending) hand written notes from (to) friends (a lost way of communication unfortunately), a nice brunch with my hubby on a lazy weekend, a long jogg around the Mall, watching a well done theater play, the sound of rain, walking bare feet on the warm asphalt after a rain... and the list can go on...

That's a wonderful list, Felicia! Some of my favorites are also on it (rain, handwritten mail, and others.)

I love this photo. I can feel it.
I live near the Gulfcaost and have spent many sandy days on this brown beach!
